THE TIME TO COMPLETE YOURFAFSA FOR FALL 2024 IS NOW!
You must complete the FAFSA now to be eligible for federal scholarships, grants, work-study jobs, and some state aid this fall. Regardless of income, completing the FAFSA can help all families.
Completing the FAFSA is the first step to receiving financial aid for college. Even if you think your family earns too much money to qualify for aid, you should still complete the FAFSA - nearly everyone who completes the FAFSA qualifies for some form of financial aid.
WHAT ARE THE STEPS TO APPLY?
1. Create an account at StudentAid.gov.
Create this account 3-5 days prior to starting your online FAFSA. This is your username and password to access and electronically sign your FAFSA and loan applications. If you’re a dependent student, your parent(s) will also need to set up an account.
2. Gather materials.
Collect all the required documentation to accompany your FAFSA submission.
3. Fill it out.
Apply online at FAFSA.gov. Send your FAFSA results to up to 20 campuses. Everyone contributing information to your FAFSA must consent to have their Federal Tax Information (FTI) transferred to the FAFSA through the IRS.
4. Sign and submit.
Review your answers from the Summary page to search for errors. Read your FAFSA Confirmation page for information about the campuses you’ve selected and an estimate of your federal aid eligibility.
5. Follow up.
Watch your email for a FAFSA Submission Summary and provide any other documentation, as needed.
